Artesia is a perfect 10-0 against Lovington since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Artesia is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Goddard, who was ranked seventh at the time (Artesia was ranked 11th). The Bulldogs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockets on Thursday. That makes it the first time this season the Bulldogs have let down their home crowd.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 23-25, 25-12, 25-23.

The losing side was boosted by Brooklynne Ivans, who had 12 digs. Jacky Tovar also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Meanwhile, Lovington came up short against Portales on Thursday, falling 3-0.

Lovington's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Artesia, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-4.

Artesia took their win against Lovington in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
