Football Recap: St. Francis Extends Winning Streak to Three

St. Francis had won two straight games and Eli Pawlish did his part to make it three on Friday. The Knights blew past the Victory Baptist Warrior 54-34 with plenty of help from Pawlish, who rushed for 196 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also picked up 120 receiving yards and one touchdown. He was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 55 yards.

Steve Snyder was another key player, rushing for 80 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making seven total tackles.

St. Francis didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Michael Shepard. Shepard is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season.

St. Francis' record is now 3-1. As for Victory Baptist, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, St. Francis will host Young Americans Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Victory Baptist, they will venture away from home to challenge Fideles Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warrior will be up against the Rangers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 25.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
