Basketball Recap: Plantation Piles Up the Points Against Pompano Beach

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Plantation). They blew past the Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes 44-12 on Thursday. This was payback for the Colonels, who suffered a 38-30 loss the last time these two teams met.

Plantation's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Geriyah Williams, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least a third of Plantation's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Gordon, who posted 11 points and five steals.

The victory got Plantation back to even at 2-2. As for Pompano Beach, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Fort Lauderdale the next time they take the court. Pompano Beach will head out to face Fort Lauderdale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Plantation will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
