Basketball Recap: Paris Comes Up Short

Paris lost to Pleasant Grove on January 9th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The contest between the Wildcats and the Hawks didn't end well, with the Wildcats falling 78-62. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 828th, while the Hawks are ranked 226th).

Paris has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Pleasant Grove, they pushed their record up to 24-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Paris didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-32 loss against Bonham on the 31st. As for Pleasant Grove, they will challenge Pittsburg at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
