Baseball Recap: East Mecklenburg's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

East Mecklenburg entered their tilt with Community School of Davidson on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Spartans. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

The team relied heavily on Liam Parsons, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for East Mecklenburg: the team is 7-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Thompson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

East Mecklenburg pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Community School of Davidson, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.
