Baseball Recap: Lane Tech Comes Up Short

Lane Tech was the 4-3 winner over Chicago Mt. Carmel when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Lane Tech fell 4-1 to Chicago Mt. Carmel on Saturday. Champions fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Caravan since on Saturday.

Lane Tech got a good showing from Dodger Friedrich, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Teo Greco was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Lane Tech's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. Chicago Mt. Carmel has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Lane Tech will be taking part in a tournament against Gulliver Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chicago Mt. Carmel, they will head out to take on Romeoville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
