Softball Recap: Schurr Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against California, Schurr was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Los Altos Conquerors 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spartans have posted since March 5, 2024.

Schurr saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samantha Maldonado, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Schurr has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Los Altos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-7.

Coming up, Schurr will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Alhambra at 3:30 p.m. The timing is sure in the Spartans' favor as the team sits on 12 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Moors have been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road. As for Los Altos, they will venture away from home to square off against Alta Loma at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Conquerors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
