Basketball Recap: Opp Takes a Loss

Opp lost against New Brockton back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Opp Bobcats fell 54-45 to the New Brockton Gamecocks. The Bobcats just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Despite the loss, Opp saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Dionna Stoudemire went 5 for 12 en route to 15 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kianna Barnes, who posted six points and 15 rebounds.

Opp's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for New Brockton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-10.

Opp didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 30-16 win against Pike County on the 14th. New Brockton has also already played their next contest, a 37-32 loss against Straughn on the 14th.
