Softball Recap: Sweetwater Takes a Loss

After flying high against Merkel last Tuesday, Sweetwater came back down to earth. The Sweetwater Mustangs lost 12-3 to the Brewer Bears on Thursday.

Kallie Scherwitz and Alexis Heredia-Gonzales stepped up to the plate in a big way. Scherwitz scored a run while going 1-for-4, while Heredia-Gonzales scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Sweetwater now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Brewer, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-6.

Coming up, Sweetwater will face off against Lewisville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brewer, they have already played their next game, a 9-3 loss against Northwest on the 27th.
