Pope John Paul II lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Trey Pearson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Fred Bailey, who scored 24 points along with two steals.

Pope John Paul II's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-4. As for Lipscomb Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.
