Basketball Recap: Juanita Comes Up Short

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-34, which was the final score in the Juanita Ravens's tilt against the North Creek Jaguars on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Ravens can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while the Jaguars are ranked 132nd).

North Creek's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cris Bonicillo, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 19 points. Bonicillo's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Carter Cohen was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Juanita's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for North Creek, they pushed their record up to 8-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Juanita has already played their next game, a 70-59 loss against Eastlake on the 20th. As for North Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-54 victory against Redmond on the 20th.
