Recap: Wayne Blue Devils vs. Pierce Bluejays
The Wayne Blue Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Pierce by a score of 46-44. Wayne has not had much luck with Pierce recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Wayne's loss came despite strong showings from Frantzdie Barner and Haley Kramer. Barner scored 19 points along with three steals, while Kramer scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Wayne has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Pierce, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Wayne won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Winnebago at 9:30 a.m. on December 30, 2023. Winnebago has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
