Football Recap: Greenville Falls to Heritage in First Game of Season

Greenville had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Heritage Coyotes on Friday, falling 49-27. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heritage to victory, but perhaps none more so than Denzel Okekeuche, who rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also picked up 82 receiving yards and one score. Chris Allen was another key signal caller, throwing for 244 yards and three TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenville will head out to challenge Sulphur Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Heritage, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Terrell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
