Washington Township waltzed into their game on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Morgan Township Cherokees. The Senators have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cherokees, too.

Washington Township was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 22-25, 21-25, 25-19, 15-11.

Their offense was headlined by Kyle Banker and Ryan Brinkley, who picked up 15 kills apiece. They got some help from Aiden Armstrong and his 37 assists. Banker was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Despite the defeat, Morgan Township saw an underclassman step up: freshman Marshall Craigin had 19 digs and two aces. Zac Leek also deserves some recognition as he had his first blocks of the season.

Washington Township's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. As for Morgan Township, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington Township will face off against Hammond Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Morgan Township, they will square off against Kouts at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
