Volleyball Recap: Austin Catholic Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Austin Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Everest Collegiate. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Everest Collegiate this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-14, 25-20.

Allie Gianino paced Austin Catholic's offense, picking up seven kills. Gianino got some help from Rebecca Shrodes and her 14 assists. Shrodes was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Austin Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10-2. As for Everest Collegiate, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3-2 record this season.

Austin Catholic will be taking part in a tournament against Armada at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Everest Collegiate, they will head out to square off against Bishop Foley at 5:30 p.m. on the 16th.
