Basketball Recap: Chatham Central Skates Past Central Carolina Academy with Ease

Everything came up roses for the Chatham Central Bears against the Central Carolina Academy Eagles on Thursday as the team secured a 67-17 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Chatham Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Goldston, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten boards. Those 18 points gave Goldston a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ansley Preslar, who posted 14 points and seven steals.

Chatham Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 32 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Chatham Central's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Central Carolina Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Chatham Central and Central Carolina Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Bears see the court they'll take on Eastern Randolph at 6:00 p.m. on December 4. As for Central Carolina Academy, their break will end when they face Cornerstone Charter at 5:30 p.m. on December 2.
