Softball Recap: Lake Wales Find Success

Lake Wales won the last time they faced McKeel Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Lake Wales Highlanders walked away with a 6-2 win over the McKeel Academy Wildcats.

Zamirya McBurrows spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Keira Davis was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Mattie Cockrell, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.
