Volleyball Game Preview: Maxwell Bears vs. Cimarron Rams + Official Tickets

Maxwell hasn't had much luck against Cimarron recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bears will head out to square off against the Rams at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Maxwell took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Wagon Mound with a sharp 3-0 win. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Maxwell was: they took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-12, 25-8.

Cimarron not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 11th (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against Wagon Mound as they made off with a 3-0 win.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-21, 25-11.

Cimarron's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-13. As for Maxwell, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-8.

Maxwell was able to grind out a solid victory over Cimarron in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
