Baseball Game Preview: Brookwood Panthers vs. Central Falcons

For the second straight game, Brookwood will face off against Central. The Panthers will face off against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Brookwood turned things around against Central on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Falcons a 1-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since March 12th.

Not much got past Davis Torri, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Central off the board. Torri also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Brookwood is 5-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 4-15 otherwise.

At the plate, Brookwood's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brody Smithson, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Central's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-10. As for Brookwood, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 9-17.
