Recap: Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers vs. St. Paul's Wolves
If the Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers were feeling good off their 71-51 takedown of the Franklinton Demons last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Woodlawn-B.R. took a 63-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Paul's. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Woodlawn-B.R.'s loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Knox, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelinee Stone, who scored 17 points.
Woodlawn-B.R.'s defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for St. Paul's, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-6.
Woodlawn-B.R. will be playing at home against Broadmoor at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Broadmoor has now lost 15 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 16. As for St. Paul's, they will take on Mandeville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mandeville is on a four-game streak of home wins, St. Paul's a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
