Baseball Recap: King Find Success

King came into Wednesday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They won by a run and slipped past the Lennard Longhorns 5-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 1-0 last Thursday.

Owen Leever tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because King is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, King's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Xavier Gori, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

King hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lennard struck out seven times.

King's record is now 5-11. As for Lennard, they dropped their record down to 5-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

King has already played their next contest, a 7-5 victory against Armwood on the 25th. As for Lennard, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 4-3 win against Plant City on the 25th.
