Softball Recap: Covington Academy Comes Up Short

Covington Academy came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 15-3 to the Skipstone Academy Warriors. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Peyton Ledoux was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.

Covington Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Skipstone Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covington Academy will face off against Scholars Guild Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Skipstone Academy, they will challenge Creekside Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Skipstone Academy knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Creekside Christian Academy likes a good challenge.
