Recap: Providence-St. Mel Knights vs. Marmion Cadets
The Providence-St. Mel Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 61-45 to Marmion. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Providence-St. Mel in their matchups with Marmion: they've now lost six in a row.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ahmad Boyd, who scored 21 points. Kenneth Miller was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Providence-St. Mel now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Marmion, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Providence-St. Mel will head out on the road to face off against DePaul College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marmion, they will be playing at home against Kaneland at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Kaneland knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Marmion likes a good challenge.
