Football Game Preview: Mt. Morris Panthers vs. Montrose Rams

Mt. Morris is 0-10 against Montrose since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Panthers will take on the Rams at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mt. Morris was handed a 32-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Lakeville 21-19. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Montrose gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't give up any more after. They strolled past New Lothrop with points to spare, taking the game 28-14.

Mt. Morris better keep an eye on Griffin Oneal. He was instrumental in Montrose's win, rushing for 76 yards and three scores, while also catching one touchdown.

Montrose's record is now 7-0. As for Mt. Morris, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-5.

Mt. Morris and Montrose were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but Mt. Morris came up empty-handed after a 41-40 defeat. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
