Basketball Recap: Global Concepts Takes a Loss

Global Concepts was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. The contest between them and the Holland Dutchmen didn't end well, with the Global Concepts Gators falling 67-48. The Gators were not able to make up for their loss to the Dutchmen from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Global Concepts still got an impressive performance from Eric Davis, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards. Davis has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Castro, who posted nine points and five assists.

Even though they lost, Global Concepts smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Global Concepts now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Holland, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Global Concepts will venture away from home to challenge Eden at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Eden knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Global Concepts likes a good challenge. As for Holland, they will head out to face off against Tapestry at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Tapestry's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
