There's no place like home for Lake Oswego, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against the Lakeridge Pacers by a score of 9-5 on Wednesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lakers as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Ava Beach spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Kaiya Carnegie was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sloane Morris, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Lake Oswego was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakeridge only posted a batting average of .259.

Lake Oswego's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 7-10. As for Lakeridge, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Lake Oswego will venture away from home to square off against Oregon City at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pioneers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Lakers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lakeridge, they will take on West Linn at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Pacers surely won't give up without a fight.
