Softball Recap: Fredericktown Freddies vs. River Valley Vikings        
        
		
            
 Fredericktown won the last time they faced River Valley, and things went their way  on Monday too. The Fredericktown Freddies came out on top against the River Valley Vikings by a score of  17-12.
  Taylor Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Brown was even better at the plate,  scoring four  runs and  stealing five bases while going 1-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen two or more in the last three games she's  played.
 In other batting news,  Jesenia Montalvo was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and three  RBI.  Kelsey Bell was another key contributor,  scoring four  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 Like Fredericktown, River Valley also got a great game from a two-way player:  Lanie Wooten. On the mound, she  tossed four innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits. Wooten was also solid in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with a  triple, a  run,  and  an  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Samantha Woods was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 2-for-4 with a  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Addison Braun, who  went 2-for-4 with a  stolen base and two  RBI.
 Fredericktown is  on a roll lately: they've  won 12 of their last 14 contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record  this season. As for River Valley,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 15-6.
 Fredericktown will be playing in front of their home fans against Johnstown-Monroe at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for River Valley, they will be playing at home against Lakewood at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. River Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9  runs per game  this season.
