Volleyball Recap: Pinckney Comes Up Short

Pinckney lost against Tecumseh last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Pinckney Pirates took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tecumseh Indians.

Pinckney was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Tecumseh work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-18.

Savannah Shafer paced Pinckney's offense, picking up four kills. Shafer got some help from Audrey Wardlow and her ten assists. Wardlow also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Laila Raymor, racking up two apiece.

Pinckney has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 21-14 record this season. As for Tecumseh, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 45-1-2.

Pinckney wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Ypsilanti on the 26th. Tecumseh has also already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Chelsea on the 26th.
