Softball Recap: Maplewood Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Maplewood put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Harding Skippers. That looming 18-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Rockets yet this season.

The team relied heavily on Claire Urchek, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Lauran Krieg, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Maplewood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Maplewood's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average this season. As for Harding, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
