Wellington won the last time they faced Palm Beach Central and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wellington Wolverines were the clear victor by a 13-2 margin over the Palm Beach Central Broncos. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won three matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Tori Payne made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.

In other batting news, Angelina Baronci and Brianna Casey did most of the damage at the plate: Baronci scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Casey scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Erryn Lowe, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Wellington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .395. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palm Beach Central only posted a batting average of .217.

The win made it two in a row for Wellington and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Palm Beach Central, they dropped their record down to 5-3 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Wellington will square off against Seminole Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Seminole Ridge will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Palm Beach Central, they will take on American Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. American Heritage's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Palm Beach Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
