Recap: Laurel Hill Hoboes vs. Rocky Bayou Christian Knights

The Laurel Hill Hoboes waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Rocky Bayou Christian by a score of 59-51. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Laurel Hill also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Laurel Hill found their leader in underclassman Aiyana Dixon, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. Dixon is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dracen Waters, who scored ten points.

Laurel Hill's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Rocky Bayou Christian, their loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-5.

Laurel Hill will head out on the road to face off against Freeport at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Freeport focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday. As for Rocky Bayou Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bozeman at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
