Softball Recap: Union County Braves vs. Russell County Lakers
Union County proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Russell County Lakers 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Braves have posted since March 21st.

Daylee Shelton looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Aspen Davis was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Ashlynn Hargrove was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double.
Union County now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Russell County, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union County will take on Murray at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Russell County, they will challenge Edmonson County at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
