Recap: Apex Cougars vs. Cary Imps
The Apex Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 61-53 to Cary. Apex has not had much luck with Cary recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Apex still got an impressive performance from Zaelyn White, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. The matchup was White's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vaibhav Dandala, who scored 13 points.
Apex now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Cary, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-7.
After both having extra time off, Apex and Overhills will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 2:00 p.m. on December 27th. Hopefully Overhills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Friday. Cary will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on East Bladen at 3:00 p.m. on December 28th. East Bladen will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
