Football Recap: Citizens Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Citizens Christian Academy faced Vidalia Heritage Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Patriots had to suffer through a 64-20 loss at the hands of the Eagles. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-6.

When it comes to explaining why Citizens Christian Academy lost, don't look at Dalton Rogers. Despite the final result, he rushed for 98 yards, and also caught one score.

Vidalia Heritage Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jake Adams, who rushed for 82 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, and also threw for 199 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Trevor White, who rushed for 120 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries.

Citizens Christian Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3. As for Vidalia Heritage Academy, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1.
