Baseball Game Preview: Roseville Tigers vs. Del Campo Cougars

For the second straight game, Roseville will face off against Del Campo. The Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Roseville has five straight wins, Del Campo has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Roseville gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Del Campo with a sharp 12-2 victory.

Santiago Barbonier looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, John Vicente lll was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Roseville is undefeated when Vicente lll posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kyle Pettersen, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Roseville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in five consecutive games.

Roseville's record now sits at 10-7. As for Del Campo, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1.
