Volleyball Game Preview: Lafayette Generals vs. Henry Clay Blue Devils

Lafayette is on a 16-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Henry Clay is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Thursday, Lafayette got the win against Bryan Station by a conclusive 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-18, 25-11.

Meanwhile, Henry Clay made easy work of Bryan Station two weeks ago and carried off a 3-0 victory.

The final score came out to 25-9, 25-9, 25-17.

Lafayette better keep an eye on Cooper Pugh. He was instrumental in Henry Clay's win, getting ten digs and three aces. That's the most aces Pugh has posted over his last seven matches.

Lafayette's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Henry Clay, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Lafayette has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Henry Clay struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
