Football Game Preview: Wakulla War Eagles vs. Fort Walton Beach Vikings

Wakulla has gone a perfect 3-0 against Fort Walton Beach recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The War Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Fort Walton Beach took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Wakulla, who comes in off a win.

Wakulla gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't give up any more after. They walked away with a 30-23 win over Suwannee. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the War Eagles.

Owen Klees was his usual excellent self, rushing for 90 yards and one TD on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 256 yards while completing 78.3% of his passes. Jeremiah Washington also helped with two touchdowns in total.

Wakulla's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. The heavy lifting was done by Wyatt Brown and Derek Davis, who racked up all four sacks between them. Davis also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 12.

Meanwhile, Fort Walton Beach came up short against Rickards on Friday and fell 16-3. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Fort Walton Beach didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Keelan Shy and Keishawn Bradley.

Wakulla now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Fort Walton Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Wakulla beat Fort Walton Beach 35-24 in their previous meeting back in November of 2020. Will the War Eagles repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
