Volleyball Recap: DeKalb Takes a Loss

DeKalb was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Naperville Central Redhawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Redhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

Jordan Grant paced DeKalb's offense, picking up seven kills. Grant were helped by Jaden Longeville and Yara Aljamal, who contributed five assists each. Isabelle Smith controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

DeKalb's loss dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Naperville Central, they pushed their record up to 17-10 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

DeKalb wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Libertyville on the 17th. As for Naperville Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Downers Grove North on the 17th.
