After a string of four wins, North Surry's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the West Wilkes Blackhawks by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Greyhounds couldn't push the score so high this time.

North Surry's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for West Wilkes, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

North Surry will take on North Stokes at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.65 runs per game on average), something the Greyhounds will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for West Wilkes, they will venture away from home to take on Wilkes Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blackhawks are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
