Basketball Game Preview: Johnsburg Central Jaguars vs. Willsboro Central Warriors

The Johnsburg Central Jaguars will face off against the Willsboro Central Warriors at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Johnsburg Central will be strutting in after a victory while Willsboro Central will be coming in after a loss.

Johnsburg Central played in conference for the first time on Thursday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They managed a 55-49 win over Indian Lake Central.

Johnsburg Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nick Sauer-Jones led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 14 boards. Sauer-Jones' evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Liam McKinney was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Meanwhile, Willsboro Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by Boquet Valley 76-21.

Johnsburg Central's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Willsboro Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Johnsburg Central lost to Willsboro Central at home by a decisive 42-26 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Johnsburg Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
