Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lumpkin County). They snuck past the Gilmer Bobcats with a 75-71 win on Tuesday. This was payback for the Indians, who suffered a 67-64 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the defeat, Gilmer had strong showings from Jd Taylor, who went 11 of 20 en route to 27 points along with five assists and five steals, and Keegen Bryant, who went 10 of 21 on his way to 24 points. The contest was Taylor's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Farmer, who posted five points and three steals.

Lumpkin County's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Gilmer, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Lumpkin County will venture away from home to take on Fannin County at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Gilmer, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Gilmer Bobcats take on the Copper Basin Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Gilmer is facing Copper Basin at the right time seeing as Copper Basin is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
