Softball Recap: Monterey Dores vs. Notre Dame Spirits
After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Monterey brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Notre Dame Spirits on Wednesday and snuck past 10-9. Considering Monterey's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Ella Myers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. Myers has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Myers was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and a double.
In other batting news, Eastin Jennings was incredible, going 3-for-3 with a home run, three runs, and a double. Jordyn McGirt was another key contributor, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.
