Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Helix). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Kearny Komets 41-6. Given the Highlanders' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Komets are ranked 365th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Helix's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB seven times. The heavy lifting was done by Justice Brown and Katherine Hernandez Bahena, who racked up six sacks between them. Hernandez Bahena also made four total tackles, which is notable because Helix is 5-1 when she posts at least three total tackles, but 2-3 otherwise.

Helix's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Kearny, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4-1.

Coming up, Helix will head out to square off against Santana at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kearny, they will square off against Madison at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Komets 12.8, the Warhawks 12.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
