Basketball Recap: Bowdon Beats Central for Their Fifth Straight Victory + How To Watch

Bowdon took a 21-point loss the last time they faced off against Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Red Devils escaped with a win on Saturday against the Lions by the margin of a single free throw, 63-62. The win was just business as usual for the Red Devils, who after four games remain undefeated this season.

Bowdon was led to victory by Timothy Johnson and Zayland Allen. Johnson dropped a double-double with 19 points and 15 boards, while Allen went 9-for-12 en route to 22 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Allen's third in a row with at least 22 points. Cace Carroll was another key player, putting up seven points.

Bowdon's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Bowdon will take on Bremen in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Central and Mundy's Mill will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 60.11 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
