Recap: Forbush Falcons vs. North Forsyth Vikings
The Forbush Falcons had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took their game on the road on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 63-18 victory over North Forsyth. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-8.
Forbush's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Natalie Scott, who scored 15 points along with five assists and three steals. Katelyn Eads was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with four steals.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jylyia Mizell, who scored ten points. The contest was Mizell's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nyemia Sides, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, North Forsyth struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Forbush racked up 23 assists.
Forbush's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for North Forsyth, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.
Forbush will take on Elkin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Elkin will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for North Forsyth, they will head out on the road to face off against Leadership Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Leadership Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than North Forsyth in North Carolina (Leadership Academy is ranked 154th, while North Forsyth is ranked 504th).
