Basketball Recap: Lone Grove Longhorns vs. Madill Wildcats
Lone Grove lost against Madill back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lone Grove Longhorns fell to the Madill Wildcats 54-50. The Longhorns have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Madill to victory were Jagger Rogers and Ryan Anderson. Rogers almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards, while Anderson posted 20 points. The dominant performance also gave Rogers a new career-high in steals (three). Another player making a difference was Sammy Duran, who put up four points and four steals.
Lone Grove now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Madill, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lone Grove will challenge Wright City at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Madill will take on Kingston in a holiday battle at 8:00 p.m. on December 17th at. Madill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season.
