Baseball Recap: Providence Hall Comes Up Short

Providence Hall and Richfield squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Providence Hall had to settle for second. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Providence Hall saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was McCade Edwards, who went 1-for-2 with two runs. Edwards has become a key player for the Patriots: the team is 9-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise.

Providence Hall's defeat dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Richfield, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-17.

While Providence Hall had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
