Basketball Recap: East Union Takes a Loss

After flying high against Diagonal last Thursday, East Union came back down to earth. The East Union Eagles were dealt a 77-34 defeat at the hands of the Mount Ayr Raiders on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 352nd, while the Raiders are ranked 97th).

East Union dropped their record down to 2-19 with the loss, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Mount Ayr, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Looking ahead, East Union will welcome Moravia at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Mount Ayr does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
