Recap: Bruce Trojans vs. Water Valley Blue Devils
The Bruce Trojans's game two weeks ago was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They skirted past Water Valley 52-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Bruce has posted yet this season.
Leading Bruce to victory were Laken Corbitt and A'toria Knox. Corbitt scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks, while Knox scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Corbitt has scored at least a third of Bruce's points.
Bruce pushed their record up to 7-10 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Water Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bruce won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Palmer at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. As for Water Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Ingomar at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
