Baseball Game Preview: Pine Forest Trojans vs. Pinecrest Patriots

Pine Forest hasn't had much luck against Pinecrest recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Pine Forest has given up an average of 12.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Pine Forest and South View, and South View kept the tradition alive. The Trojans lost 11-3 to the Tigers on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Pinecrest didn't have quite enough to beat Princess Anne on Wednesday and fell 9-8.

Owen Todd was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Todd was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Todd wasn't the only one making solid contact as eight players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sam Cockman, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. William Chopping was another, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Pine Forest's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Pinecrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-4.

Pine Forest might still be hurting after the 17-2 loss they got from Pinecrest in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
